Tigers Announcer Makes Apparent Racist Comment Toward Shohei Ohtani

A lot of people were watching the Detroit Tigers game last night as the took on the Los Angeles Angels at Comerica Park, but most of the people were hoping to see Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th Home Run, becoming the 28th person in MLB history to do it.

However, what viewers of the television broadcast saw and heard instead was Tigers announce Jack Morris make what sounded like an racist comment directed at Angels pitcher Shohei Ohtani during the 6th inning.

Matt Shepard, who does play-by-play, had asked Morris what the Tigers should do to plan for Ohtani's impending at-bat. Morris's response sounded like an accept that has historically been used to mock Asian-Americans' english.

Later during the 9th inning, as Ohtani was batting again, Morris apologized for the remarks, which you can hear below.
